Funeral tomorrow morning, and after services the interment will be made in the family plot at Evergreen Cemetery, under the direction of Thomas H. IRELAND, of 177 North Sixth street.3,4

     Jacob Both was born on 9 May 1827 at Germany.3 He was the son of Frank Both.1 Jacob Both married Wilhelmina Miller, daughter of John Miller and Mary (?).4 Jacob Both died on 4 Aug 1888 at Jerome Avenue & Central Bridge, New York City, New York, at age 61. Central Bridge is now known as the Macombs Dam Bridge.1 He was buried on 7 Aug 1888 at Woodlawn Cemetery, West Bronx, Westchester County, New York. (This area later became part of the Bronx Borough of New York City.).1
     He emigrated on 17 Feb 1855 on the ship Russell, which left from Le Havre, France. He was listed as a farmer from Württemberg.5 He and Wilhelmina Miller lived in Melrose Avenue, Morrisania, Westchester County, New York, in 1860. He was employed as a cigar maker.6,4 Jacob Both was naturalized on 28 Aug 1860 at Common Pleas Court, New York County, New York. Henry Both was his witness. Henry's address on this record was 114 Norfolk Street.7 He and Wilhelmina Miller lived at Courtland Avenue, Westchester County, New York, between 148th and 149th Street in 1880.8,9 Jacob Both lived at 511 East 153rd Street, New York City, New York, in 1884.10 Jacob was employed as a cigar maker. The 1884 New York City Directory lists Jacob Both as a "segarmaker" living at 511 E. 153rd Street.1
