     John Alexander Hill was born on 16 Aug 1883 at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.1,2 He was the son of Francis Isaac Hill and Catherine Elizabeth MacDonald.3 He married Charlotte Adele Johnston, daughter of John F. Johnston and Sarah Ann Murray, on 27 Nov 1905 at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.4 John Alexander Hill died on 24 Jul 1948 at age 64.5
     When his mother died Roland and his three brothers were raised by his grandmother, Eliza Peabody Hill and her unmarried daughter Emma Hill.

He worked as an engineer and operated and maintained cranes and equipment at a granite quarry operated by H. E. Fletcher Company in Westford, Massachusetts.6,7 He resided with Eliza Ann Hill at Mammoth Road, Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in 1900.8 John Alexander Hill and Charlotte Adele Johnston lived at Church Street, Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in 1910.9 John Alexander Hill lived in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, in 1915.10 He lived in Tyngsboro Road, North Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in 1918.11 He and Charlotte Adele Johnston lived at 68 Baldwin Street, Lowell, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in 1920. John was employed as an engineer in a cotton mill.12 John Alexander Hill and Charlotte Adele Johnston lived in Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in 1930.13 John Alexander Hill appears in a group photo a 1940 at Warner, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.      Isaac Hill was born on 23 Sep 1885 at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.1,2 He was the son of Francis Isaac Hill and Catherine Elizabeth MacDonald. Isaac Hill married Margaretta Pauline (?) b 1940.3 Isaac Hill died on 27 Feb 1953 at age 67.2
     When his mother died Roland and his three brothers were raised by his grandmother, Eliza Peabody Hill and her unmarried daughter Emma Hill.

He worked as an engineer and operated and maintained cranes and equipment at a granite quarry operated by H. E. Fletcher Company in Westford, Massachusetts.4,5 He resided with Eliza Ann Hill at Mammoth Road, Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in 1900.6 Isaac and Margaretta adopted a girl and a boy. The girl was a bit older than Rowena Hill Scott, so would have been born about 1918 or so.7 Isaac Hill and Margaretta Pauline (?) lived in Redbank, Monmouth County, New Jersey, in 1940.3

[birth not listed in Dracut VR]1,2,3 She was the daughter of Nathaniel Peabody Jr. and Mary Gilcreast.4 She married Isaac Hill Jr on 20 Sep 1854 at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.4,5 Eliza Ann Peabody died on 6 Dec 1916 at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 87.6 She was interred at Oakland Cemetery, on Mamoth Road, Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.6,2,7
     She resided with Nathaniel Peabody Jr. in Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in 1850.8 As of 20 Sep 1854,her married name was Hill. Eliza Ann Peabody and Isaac Hill Jr lived in Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in 1860. Also living with them, as a farm laborer, was Luther L. Again, after her son John was widowed, he moved onto the farm with his three children.
