     Frances M. Rice 81, of Spring Lake Heights, died Monday, March 22, 2010, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Asbury Park, Frances lived there until moving to Spring Lake Heights 60 years ago. Frances worked as a clerk for the Borough of Spring Lake Heights and most recently Borough of Allenhurst. She was a member of Wall United Methodist Church, Wall, where she was a member of the quilting club.
Frances was predeceased by her parents, August and Edna Stetter; her beloved husband, Weston P. Rice, in 2003; and her two brothers, Frederick Stetter and Edward Stetter. Surviving are her children, Bruce W. Rice and his wife Carol Ann of Neptune, Gary W. Rice and his companion Paula Thorne of Spring Lake Heights, Leslie J. Hyde and her husband William of Constable, N.Y; and four grandchildren, Bruce M. Rice, Kenneth J. Vryhof, Aimee L. Barse, and Allyson M. Hyde.
Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 26 at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall. A funeral service will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 27 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan.
